Message: Dear Karen and Miles
I was so sad to hear the news of Moira passing. What a woman, she gave me my first ever interview and neither of us had a clue what the other was saying, it was the start of a truly wonderful friendship. She mentored, mothered me and partied with me like no other. I am sorry I lost touch since I moved back to Ireland but I thought of her and you guys a lot over the last few years.
Please accept my condolences and I hope that Moira's spirit will get you through this awful time.
Kind regards
Caroline

Message: Dear funny, talented, clever, colourful, Moira,

You are loved by so many people who will never forget how you touched their lives. You will be forever in our hearts.

We shared so many years of good times and laughs in Kaduna, then later back home, and were elated when you and Miles came on board and added your special brilliance to the KRUFC reunion last year. Unforgettable moments relived and new memories made.

Since then your emails have been a tonic and an inspiration to me. I shall miss them terribly, your wit, your generous heart, and your big hugs.

Special lady, go safely until our next reunion. xxx

Miles, Karen, Danny and Jack, our love and thoughts are with you.

Message: Dear Moira

Both you and Miles were so truly kind when I first met you. You took me into your Company and helped my confidence grow. You encouraged me to take on new responsibilities and were always utterly supportive.

I will deeply miss you Moira. You had a wonderful capacity to understand people and situations. I will miss your thoughtfulness, charm, humour and no-nonsense approach to life. The world is a smaller place without your brilliant and unique personality.

I will never forget the sit-on mower racing, the curry nights or my 'farewell' drinks when I got pregnant.

Your sentiments then were " ... this is not good-bye" and I agree. You will always be in our hearts.

With love Mellie, Si and Issy

Message: Kite.

I want you to know
You don't need anyone
Or anything at all

Who's to say where the wind will take you?
Who's to say what it is will break you?
I don't know, which way the wind will blow

It's summer, I can taste the salt of the sea
There's a kite blowing out of control on the breeze
I wonder what's gonna happen to you
You wonder what has happened to me...

I'm a man, I'm not a child...
A man who sees
The shadow behind your eyes

Who's to know when the time has come around?
I don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye

She was an amazing boss but more importantly a great friend. Moira had so much time for us all. Every one that worked for her respected her and boy did she know how to party!!
Moira was like a 2nd Mum to me at times, letting me house sit during her trips away on business and holiday. Holding parties for us at the house in Sunbury, the list goes on.
Miles, I remember when you and Moira first met and how happy & excited she was. It was such a pleasure to be at your wedding to share your special day, you made such a great couple.

So many memories of you. The day Mum brought this tiny little baby girl home from hospital. I loved looking after you and taking you out for walks in your pram - showing you off to all my friends. Jackie and me encouraging you to take your first steps and the joy when you did! How you wouldn't leave the house without all your cuddly toys stuffed into your arms and your little bag slung over your shoulder. You and me getting ready to go to my wedding and you not too happy at having to wear a bridesmaid's dress. The big smile on your face when you realised that you would now have a room all to yourself.
Your utter joy when Karen was born.
Moira, I loved you when you first came into my life and I always will. I am heartbroken that you are no longer with us.

With Miles you were great hosts and I know you were a tremendous support to Miles and all the Powley family. I think back fondly to the fun times, when we laughed together at the mad antics of the Powley boys and how they impressed us with their general knowledge at Christmas quizzes/crosswords, even if their car/boat/unicycle driving sometimes made us shake our heads in despair/horror! I can't believe you're not here anymore but if you're with Ian now, I wish for you both to be at peace. With love and deep sorrow. A big hug for Miles. Adrianne

The time we spent with you seemed so brief and yet all of it was memorable. From your fascination for weeding, our garden as well as your own; to the late night debates where if we had an opinion it was difficult to squeeze it into the conversation! The gatherings in the house and garden flowed with hospitality and drinks and your laughter was unmistakable.

Memories were created on those days and we loved you for it.

Message: Dear Moira
A week on it's hard to express the hole you leave in our lives.
The joy of watching you take to gardening with all the energy you threw into all projects.
Your pleasure at the natural beauty of your village home, the joy of watching new life like the nest at the edge of the weir, the swans nesting. The pleasure and pride in your grandson.
Our shared fun at the Frome Cheese Show (the leather boots and the purple mac!)Friday nights with at least two of the four of us asleep after a good take away. Mad kareoke where all the americans wanted to come and join our party because we were having such fun. Discussions where we put the world to rights. The creation of the Swan Club!!
These are merely the tip of an iceberg of memories that will be with us for ever and will always mean you are part of our lives.
And now we wish you, Miles,Karen and your families lasting and healing Peace.

Only three people in this world know what we went through in our childhood. You, Norah and me. All three shared terrible and wonderful times. For ever in my memory are good times like taking the hand of my wee sister to Huntley Park on a Saturday morning where you watched me play football. Bribing you to go to the ice cream van giving Betty and I two minutes alone together.
Oh Moira, it breaks my heart that you have gone.
Dear Miles and Karen. Words can’t explain how I feel about the loss of Moira. My deepest sympathy to you both.

Maybe you didnt realise this but Moira and your fine self have played a very important part in our lives. Really.
From our wedding day boat shenannegans, to providing me with work and a wage when i REALLY needed it,and introducing us to Mike Stafford who in no small way is responsible for the journey that has lead to our two beautiful babies. For all these things and the undoubted influence Moira had on us with regard to interior decor!! I owe moira a massive and heartfelt thanks. Thank you Moira, Thankyou Miles.

We are very sorry to hear Moira had been going through a depression What a horrible illness for you both. This whole thing must have hit youso hard.
All I can say to you is this. I can genuinely say that I have never met anyone who enjoyed their life as much as Moira did. and though it is inevitable that you must be consumed by sadness and I guess it can be no other way. I know that you will be ok.

For my part, I remember how brilliantly witty, politically and philisophically astute and funny Moira was. A unique, fabulous, and important person. I will miss her as will anyone who ever met her.

Message: She was without doubt the best boss I ever had and was a real inspiration to me. Her drive and passion were infectious to all who knew her. I know that words won't really help but you already know how so many people feel about her.

Message: Goodbye Moira and thank you for everything. You helped me when I started work; gave me a great job later on – and made it fun; were there for me when times were tough; but it's the laughter and smiles which I treasure most. X

Message: there aren't enough words to say everything I want to say. You will be sadly missed. Who will eat my cakes now?! Cheers for all the giggles, the drunken moments, the fellow pet lover moments, for putting me in a bridesmaid dress and for returning the favour. Thank you for the job and looking after us and teaching us so much. Big hugs my friend x

Message: Dear Moira, we will always remember one hot day last summer when we were there at the Mill House. The boys had put their swimming things on and I had been persuaded to put on a costume. I tried to persuade you to get changed too, but you said, "Oh what the hell!" and jumped in fully clothed. It was such fun....but icy cold. I know now why you kept your clothes on! You will be so missed. Be at peace now. Our love and memories the Peirson family.

Message: Goodbye Moira, you will be missed by me and everyone who ever had the good fortune to meet you.

25 years we shared together: a beautiful daughter, travels, adventures, laughs and tears, highs and lows and lots and lots of fun in so many different countries. You made life worth living, oh yes you did.

With love, sai an jima
